Hello to our Members, Friends and Blues Enthusiasts,
We’re in the planning stages of the 2024 Simply Texas Blues Festival. The San Angelo Blues Society is proud to have been a part of this community and prouder to have been of service to this community for 15 years. We’ve been involved in many community outreach programs through the years, as well as funding our Blues Scholarship awards. To date, we’ve given out over $125,000.
Since the event of COVID, many things have been affected, and we are feeling that as well. The Simply Texas Blues Festival is completely funded by the donations of some very generous Sponsors. Without them, it would not have been possible to put on this wonderful event every year, nor would we be able to do the outreach and scholarships.
This year has been particularly difficult, and to date, we have only two cash sponsorships, totaling $6,000. We are blessed that many of our vendors are willing to provide some services in exchange for sponsorship, but even so, it still takes $30,000 in cash to make this event happen every year. And that’s after all the pennies have been pinched.
The current Board of Directors isn’t willing to give up. So we’re asking for your help. Every donation matters, every one counts, large or small. For those of you with businesses, we offer advertising opportunities and sponsorship opportunities, standard packages and custom packages.
Please remember, we are a non-profit organization. None of us get paid to do this. Some of us put in hundreds of volunteer hours to make this happen. We’ve never been able to do it without your help, and frankly, we need it now more than ever.
